About this band

Narrow and light, in a polish or a satin finish

A fine band that sits close to the finger and reads as a bright line rather than a block of metal. The easiest of the two to wear all day, and the one that stacks best beside another ring.

Two finishes

Polished, or satin.

This band comes two ways, and you pick when you order. Polished is taken all the way to the wheel — a bright mirror that gives the room back. Satin stops one step before it: sanded to an even, soft matt that holds the light quietly and wears in rather than showing every mark. Same silver, same hours either way — the price doesn’t change.

The satin finish — sanded, not mirrored.

Made in pairs as often as not

Order two and they are made together, from the same silver, in the same session — so they match as closely as anything hand-made can. A thin band is the one most people ask for as the second of a pair.

Narrow is harder to get even

There is less metal to hide behind on a thin band: any wander in the width shows immediately. It gets filed and checked round and round until the line holds true the whole way.

Reviews

What buyers say

No reviews yet.

This shop is new and nobody has left one. Rather than fill this space with invented praise, it stays empty until there's something real to put in it.

If you buy a band, I'd genuinely like to know how it wears — smartutilitysupply@gmail.com.

Questions

Before you order

Is it actually solid silver?
Yes — pure silver all the way through, solid, not plated and not a silver colour over something cheaper.
Will mine look exactly like the photographs?
Close, but not identical. Every band is forged, filed, domed and finished by hand, so no two come out quite the same — the hammer marks land differently and the join sits in a different place. The photographs on this site are of real bands I've made, not renders, so what you see is the level to expect rather than a specific object.
How much is it, exactly?
Between £150 and £250, set by size and width — a bigger, wider band is more silver and more work. Pick your size and width on any band's page and the price updates, or use the estimator on the sizing page. Every band comes in a ring pouch. Delivery is £25 by regular mail or £55 recorded (signed for). You can switch between £, $ and € at the top of any page.
How do I pay?
Not on this site. You send your order through the order page, I reply to confirm the size, the price and the postage, and we settle it from there. No card details are ever typed into these pages.
How long will it take?
usually 7–14 days. Each one is made from scratch after you order, so it isn't same-day.
Does silver tarnish?
It does — silver reacts with sulphur in the air and dulls over time, more quickly for some people than others. A silver polishing cloth brings a polished band straight back. A satin band dulls less visibly because it isn't reflecting to start with.
Can I cancel or return it?
You can cancel for a full refund within 4 days of ordering, before I start making it — just email me. After that I begin forging your band to your size, width and finish, so it becomes a bespoke piece and can't be returned for a change of mind (made-to-order items are exempt from the usual 14-day return). Two things worth knowing: the size is worth getting right (the sizing page helps, and I'd rather sort it by email first), and because these are hand-made they carry small marks — a join line, the odd tool mark — which are character, not faults. If a band ever arrives genuinely faulty or not as described, your statutory rights apply and I'll put it right. Full returns policy.
Can I ask for something that isn’t on here?
Ask. The bands on the site are what I've made and photographed enough to sell with confidence, but the reason any of this exists is that I like making things out of metal.
